USCHI, KEEPING ALL THINGS TOGETHER

Heavily bitten by a former border guard shepherd when she was a child, Uschi was always more than afraid when she crossed a dogs way.

In fact she did not cross his way, for she rather climbed a tree than meet a small Chihuaha.

This was still the case when we came to Curaçao and decided to keep dogs.

The first rescued dogs we took, were 2 Westpointer Puppies of about 12 weeks and around 6 Kilo.

That seemed giant to her.

Meanwhile her attitude has changed and she is the second leader of the pack, not being afraid of foreign dogs either anymore.

Anyway, she still knows exactly how it feels not knowing how to act and not knowing how to deal with a dog.

LEARN MORE ABOUT OUR COACHES

So her part on Renno Ranch is the communication with the owners and their coaching, to develop a better understanding and finding a 'common language' with their dog(s).

One of her biggest key experiences was, when all of a sudden an older grumpy vacation dog (not educated at all) started to attack Maureen.

Without thinking and just acting, she started to defend Maureen with nothing but a pot lid in her hands, she chased the dog across the shelter, being really angry and as such very authentic.

That was the beginning of a deeper understanding how the communication between dog and owner or leader has to be.
